Ive lived here for 6yrs and every year the rent goes up and the neighborhood gets more ghetto.that my review from a while back. Today: abc11 reports a stabbing in the neighborhood this week, Google the persons name n we find that this person has 3 previous arrests for assault w a deadly weapon, b n e, n assault on a female, and people recognize him as living in our neighborhood and being at the pool all the time. Broken glass and condoms have been found at the park by neighborhood kids, kids from this neighborhood and others around us are constantly stealing bikes, houses and cars are being broken into. seems like neighborhood is going back to being pure riffraff again. new houses being moved in look nice though and the new yard people use a tractor to mow the fields now so it gets mowed every 2 weeks now instead of the previous once a month. tow trucks are constantly towing cars out of here even for just unloading and loading stuff by our front doors and charge over $100 just to drop it down back in place. repairs to pool area were nice this year but the open hours were cut short this year and its now closed on mondays also(even on labour day!). rent goes up $12 every year and nothing is ever done to improve the neighborhood. we were told under previous management that dog parks were going to be made and new kids parks and more street lights for safety were going to be put in. new mailboxes were finally put in after 6 years but we couldn't get our mail for over a week while they were being torn down and installed unless we drove all the way to Wendell to the post office. every time there is a power surge or outage the water pumps go out and then we have dirty nasty water coming into our houses clogging up our water heaters and washers and sinks, then we used to get notices telling us to not drink the water till testing could come back declaring it safe But haven't gotten one of those in a while. (Makes me wonder if they even test it any more or if it's even treated? Aug 31st i got a letter in the mail (postmarked 2 days erlier) telling me the water was going to be shut off from 7am till 7pm on the 31st but mail doesn't come until 12 pm and i didn't get it till after work so once again dirty nasty water in everything.
This place is very expensive to rent, and they are very strictly.. they don't have consideration for nobody, and when the power goes off they take forever to turn on the well pump. And sometimes when you come from work surprise you ain't got no water at all and they cut it without letting you know. And when it turning back on it's all muddy and dirty Plus people stealing things especially people from the back side this place is ghetto as f***
And this is NOT a charge I make lightly, there is a pattern of her taking the side of African-Americans over whites. My mom was cussed out and had water splashed on her at the pool by an African American lady, just because my mom tried to inform her of pool rules, and Teosha, the manager, took the side of the black lady over my mom...and my mm was the one verbally and physically assaulted!
And, no I most definitely am not racist myself, the BEST manager we ever had here was Tiffany Ivy...AND SHE WAS BLACK!! I would pay real money to have HER back, she was a community manager. This Teosha is just a rent-collector...bad enough, but one who in my opinion, also is not colorblind and she will ALWAYS take the side of blacks over non-blacks.
Crime is on the rise. Maintenance can take up to 8 months to fix problems. Vandalism and several thefts. CCBI was out just 2 nights ago.
The rent goes up every year for which we get nothing. The electricity goes out every time there is a storm, and then they take forever to turn the water back on. There are broken streetlights everywhere, we have been promised they would be fixed but they are not, so I no longer walk at night like I used to. Our manager is lousy and I suspect she is not colorblind, either.
Save yourself from the trouble and keep moving if you're looking for a place to live. I only gave 1 star because this is was the lowest option. Do not let the management, the fliers and the gimmicks fool you. Deerhurst is nothing more that the average run of the mill dirty ghetto trailer park. When things break, they don't get fixed. The water fails all of the time and when it's back on the water is black or brown. Do not trust the yearly water tests that actually tell you every year that the water is unsafe to drink. In the past year alone, I have had things stolen from my property, there was an assault, a drug bust and much MUCH more...just RUN!
